The Center for Education (National Academies) and the National Science Resources Center (National Academies and Smithsonian Institution) have developed a series of workshops to help MSP grantees and future applicants improve K-16 STEM programs. The content of the workshops builds on recent NRC reports on K-12 and higher education in a variety of topics (improving learning, assessing learning, teacher education, challenging courses and curricula, and the role of IHEs in partnerships with K-12 schools and districts). Participants examine the research and the implications, applications, and implementation issues identified in these reports. They then apply them to their project designs.
A total of twelve workshops are being offered. All participants receive CD-ROMS containing a compendium of NRC reports that are related to the topic(s) being considered at a particular workshop.
